Welcome to Ann’s Paradise, a peaceful haven nestled between the green hills and the Atlantic cliffs of Caloura, on the island of São Miguel. This small coastal village is one of the island’s hidden treasures, known for its natural pools, volcanic landscape, and serene rhythm of life.

Here, everything invites you to slow down. In the soft winter light of the Azores, you can wander through a beautiful vineyard, meet the adorable animals from the farm, or simply sit by the ocean listening to the waves. The days unfold gently, in tune with nature’s calm energy.

Thoughtfully designed, the house blends simplicity and comfort : a space to rest, reflect, and reconnect.

THE PAINTING STUDIO

4 x 3-hour classes - Beginners to advanced intermediates - All materials provided

These four sessions will introduce you to or deepen your knowledge of oil painting. The goal is to provide you with the essential tools you need to continue exploring this medium.

  • Basic Techniques - Color Mixing and Manipulation

  • Color Blocking - Building with Colored Masses

  • Playing Light and Shadow - Creating Volume

  • Composition - Organizing Your Painting

  • Creating the Illusion of Detail - Suggesting Without Painting Everything

  • Freehand Painting x Portrait (for Advanced Levels) - Proportions and Character

  • Developing Your Artistic Eye

Outside of classes, boards and wetsuits are available at the lodge for your free sessions and you can book additional sessions with our partner -school

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is open to all levels, whether in art , yoga or surfing. it's for anyone who wants to grow creatively while enjoying the beauty and tranquility of island life.

What does a typical day look like?

Each day balances structured creative time, adventure, and rest. Here's a sample day:

  • Sunrise yoga

  • Healthy breakfast

  • Painting class (3 hours)

  • Lunch: Picnic or meal at the lodge

  • Afternoon: Guided tour of the island or surfing lesson

  • Evening: Hot spring bath and shared dinner prepared by our private chef

Some days include free time to balance your stay with your personal interests.
